Default ATTS on an H23?

Hi. I purchased a 1998 Prelude SH as a project for a cheap daily driver. Previous owner had a bad oil leak and spun a rod bearing. I don't feel like rebuilding the existing motor and can get a low mileage H23 motor for around $800. My question is will I be able to take the trans and atts off my current H22 and bolt them up to the H23? I see a lot of info on these swaps here but haven't come across anything about transferring the atts. Thanks.

No, the bolt pattern isn't right on the block, just get a regular transmission and a good LSD, you'll be happier in the end.

Has anyone actually tried it? I don't have an H23 here to compare. If its just a matter of a few bolts being off I own a full performance shop and the ability to fabricate whatever I need. The thing is I just don't want to sink in too much time or money into this project. Reason I want to go with an H23 is they are readily available and cheap. I'd love a newer H22 type s but they run nearly 3 grand.

It'd be a lot of fab work and probably not worth it in the end. Just grab a regular trans

with enough money anything can be done. This is one of those things not worth the money. Your issue is going to be the lack of bolt holes for the atts unit to bolt up to the block. The transmission would bolt up but it wouldn't work because the SH tranny is made to be used with the atts and not a half shaft so that puts you back at square one. The only options you have are to either do a full swap for find a type s or type sh motor or atleast block. Id had to just rebuild mine because i couldn't find a long block.

And if its a street car, don't waste your money....

BTW: As clarified in my other reply, ATTS+FWD is ****....
