Default Aftermarket Cat for Ep3?

Hey guys.

After an extensive K20a3 rebuild for my brothers EP3 (burnt two exhaust valves), we got her started yesterday and she sounds beautiful! I say extensive because there was part issues after part issues, then the damn hurricanes. But all good, expected some issues would arise.

Only thing now is that prior to us finding the burnt valves, there was a code for a while for the cat. So we know we need to replace it, but we are trying to find a cheaper route than oem ($700+ from majestic). Is there anything very cost effective that still has the 02 sensor bungs in the cat? The universals obviously wont. Trying to find an option here. Thanks for any input fellas. Just trying to get it problem free on the road for my brother.

Try looking at a Junkyard for a used one... if not look at clubep3.com, ephatch.com, clubrsx.com for used one's... I got mine from Kev (cloumep3) when he got rid of it at a special friend price lol... but usually you can get them for about 150$

Oh ok.

But nothing so far as brand new. I saw one brand that offers an aftermarket one from autozone, but still $250.

theres a website where my friend got a aftermarket high flow cat converter and then got a muffler shop to weld it up for $100
for his ej6

might look into that? might as well upgrade the cat converter if your gonna be spending time and money on it
