Oil leak 93 civic DX
I have a '93 Civic DX that's been leaking oil for some time, but not too bad. Just the other day I noticed that the leak seems to have got worse. When I park after I've been driving it I can see the oil drips left behind on the ground. It's leaking on the driver's side only, and when I'm stopped I can see some smoke coming from under the hood, probably the oil burning. Anyone have an idea of which seal might be leaking on the driver's side only. I'm wondering about using some additive as a band aid but I hear they can just lead to bigger problems later. Any advice is appreciated.
You need to post pictures.
Note that oil leaks at the top of the engine may appear to come from the bottom. The smoke suggests the oil is dripping onto the header or exhaust pipe.
On the driver's side, common leak locations are from the valve cover, oil pan, or crank or cam seal. A leaking oil pan gasket is very common. You need to take some time to trace the source of the leak.
