TrIied to boost the car, now it's dead!
98 civic, 3 DR DX.
Hi guys, I just changed our my gas tank and my spark plugs. And was hoping to start the car.
I had to boost from my other car as the battery was dead after sitting for an extended period of time.
The car was cranking just fine, just waiting for the spark to kick in, but after a few tries, it just died. No lights, nothing.
So it was only after I removed the NEG cable from the battery that the car seems ti reset itself. But as soon as I turn the key to start, the car dies. No crank. Just dies.
I did a visual of the fuses but seen nothing blown.
Help please...

Wait, so you charge the battery, electronics work fine and you try to crank and everything dies? I have had similar things happen with something as simple as a loose ground terminal. I would get in the car, it would crank half a turn then everything would die. I would get out, clean the battery terminal and tighten it down and all would be good.
If the battery dies ENTIRELY every time you crank, you have a short somewhere that is draining all your power.

I cleaned the battery before hand. And no I didn't attempt to trickle charge.
I got probably 6-8 good tries at cranking before it died.. Every time I remove the NEG jump cable from the car and replace it onto the terminal the car "resets". I turn the keep. And bam. It dies again.
Could my starter have shorted? I looked at my main batt fuse (60A), and the link looked good. I did not meter as I didn't have time. Had to pack my bags.
