Default Question about the GSR's VTEC badge..

My VTEC badge was recently stolen off the back of my car . I went to Acura and picked up another one for $18, damn theives can't buy there own. But the badge that I bought and the one that came with my car feel different. I thought the original felt like a hard plastic or thin metal piece. The new one I got is soft and bendable.

My question is, what is the factory VTEC badge made of??

I don't know about every year GSR but the '97 that my girl owns came with a thick metalic badge but it got stolen too. The one that the dealer was gonna sell us was a flimsy plastic sticker lookin' thing. We decided to forego the decal. It creates a sleeper effect.

It wasn't metal. It just felt like that because it was on the car. When you take it off it feels like soft plastic. Well at least that's what I noticed when I took mine off.

Yup. I thought mine was metal also, but when I took it off I was surprised it was only plastic.

I pulled mine off too, and I'm also going to cut the 4" chrome exhaust tip off of my muffler.

took my badge off my gsr before i took it off the dealer's lot. less likely of it being a victim to theft. Also it looks alot better and gives off a sleeper effect.

That's exactly where I put the new one I bought. I almost looks like it came like that.

i would just leave the vtec badge off... if they still your badge today, its your motor tomorrow. too many damn thieves out there, its better not to advertise what you have.

Either way, even if you had an LS, they would still steal it for the motor and drop it into a hatch or something.
Every Integra is a magnet for thieves.

Yep, I did the same thing. Put the sticker right about my shifter console. It makes the car look cleaner and people can't tell that it is a GSR right way. Especially those Civics, Si's, or LS/GS Integras that want to race you off the light and you burn them because they didn't know you have a GSR.
