best tire size for 16x8 +15?
I am thinking about buying xxr 501's next week, but Im unsure on what tire size would be the best fit on them. I was thinking about some 195/45 or 195/50, but any other opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The car will dictate tire size more so than the wheel. What car is these wheels going on?
Most Honda chassis cannot fit that size wheel 9with properly sized tires) without fender flares or extensive panel work to increase wheel/tire clearance.

But, those tires would be entirely too small for the chassis.
225/45/16 or 225/50/16 would fit the car and the wheels, but you will need excessive camber in the rear, just to clear them. With 225/50/16's I needed almost 2 degrees of negative camber in the rear of my EM2 when using 16x8 +37's. My quarter panels are also trimmed and rolled flat with a minor flare to them. So, you're either going to need excessive camber in the rear, or you'll have to do some serious work on the panels.
As for the fenders, you're going to need to cut the fender liner, and roll them flat with at least a little flare to them, and run excessive camber to fit those wheels up front.
In short, those wheels are really too low of an offset for the car to have a safe setup.

well darn that sucks, but i'll keep looking. i have 17's on my car now with 205/40 tires on it and im not a big fan of them. Would a 16x7 with a +25 or +35 and a 195/45 be a safer set up?
A 16x7 +35 would fit perfect, with some 215/50/16 or 205/50/16 tires. 195/45/16 is a little too small.

oh ok. I dont know much about tire sizes when it comes to matching them to certain rims, I have just been lookin around at what some other poeple were running and I saw OBK had 195/45 on his wheels and Im wanting to go lower with my car than I am now without excessive camber and fender pulling. And im at 2.5" at the jack point from the ground now.

--EDIT--
Here's what 16x7 +47's look like with 215/50/16's. 16x7 +35's will be roughly 1/2" closer to the fender lip.
Thanks toyomatt84 for the help and I understand how that could be a liability. I think I'll use your advise and should be ordering the wheels and tires tomorrow.
