I was wondering what the difference in length is between the axle back's for the different body styles? Is the difference in the actual axleback itself, or is there a difference in length of the actual piping before the axle back? I am looking to buy an axle back from a guy, but he is not sure if its for 2/4 dr or hatch. the previous owner of my car took out the stock axle back and welded in a different muffler, so I cant measure the exact length

 

How does he NOT know what it fits?

 

thats what I said! its the typical my friend gave it to me story, and he already tried to tell me it should fit all civics...

 

Many will tell you that coupe and sedans are the same, not true, the sedan is longer by a couple of inches and will stretch the rubber hangars to the rear maxed out and place the muffler up against the chasis and make all kinds of noise as it bumps it.
The coupe and hatch are also different in the sense that the tailpipe extends about 6 inches from the muffler and on the coupe its way way longer also the del sol axleback is the same as the coupe. I suggest you get the right on for sure and avoid the headaches or try it on before you buy it.
