Default 95 accord temp gauge doesnt work

95 accord, 4 cyl, the temp gauge will either stay on the bottom, or jump all the way to hot if i go over bump. I'm thinking the wiring is just loose, but could it be the thermostat? And how could i test to see if the thermostat works properly?

Well you could always throw it in a pan of water and heat it up. Could run the car without a t-stat...or just throw a new OE stat in it since you hav to remove it anyway and they don't cost that much.

That doesn't sound like the thermostat at all. For it to be either extreme only means there is either a problem with the sender itself , which is located on the head below the distributor, or a problem in the wiring somewhere.

So, I found out that both sensors on the side of the engine where broken off -____- (one wire and another 2 eire sensor) don't ask me how, but a trip to the junk yard and half a pack of smokes later my guage works now
