My car was at the shop getting a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) replaced, and then I get a call from the mechanic asking whether my tachometer had been working. It was working prior to me taking it into the shop, but now I guess it doesn't work. What would cause the tachometer to stop working all of a sudden?

The speedometer still works...it's only the tachometer (rpm).
