Default Which ECU and where?

Well, hell. . . . My 92 Prelude is still running fine(sort of).

It came with a SOHC f22. I dropped in a JDM f22b OBD2 DOHC motor. I converted everything from the SOHC (Dizzy, harness, stock ECU and removed the intake throttle plate black box).

It runs pretty darn decent, but it backfires. There is no way to time it except by vacuum, which I did. But, it still backfires when fully warmed up. It's not bad at all, but noticeable.

I finally want to get a "chipped" ECU for it. Which should make it run better. It has to since the ECU in it now is for a stock SOHC engine.

But, which one do I need and where do I get it?

A chipped ECU is a joke unless its tuned for your car.....I don't know who even messes with Non-VTEC ecu. Maybe try an H23 ECU?
I'd buy an SAFC and hit the dyno......For about $300-400, I'll bet you smile from ear to ear.

A h23 is a bit different, it's set up for a knock sensor which this motor does not have. The SOHC ECU was a direct swap as far as connecting crap goes. It's just that it can't hand with the fact the new motor is higher compression DOHC.

You think a SAFC would do good? I ran one of those way back in the day.

But the cool part is, I can run a AFC with a wide band and do some tuning on my own.

Well, while you don't have VTEC x-over to tune.....I know there is power to be had from just AFR tuning....as always.
Give it a try......trust me. B)

I was hoping just to throw a ECU in that would would well.

I don't think it's worth to spend that much $ on this since I doubt that it will make any noticeable gains, really.

Just it not running right can't be too good for it though.
