Default cleaning gsr trans gears?

Might be kind of a dumb question to ask but eh oh well. I have a gsr trans that I'm about to install but it been sitting in the garage taken apart for a good while. I'm wanting to get it cleaned. Should I take it to the machine shop to get hot tanked or could I just clean it at home with a degreaser or something?

A good solvent, some brake cleaner and a brush will work just fine.

Have it hot dipped if you want absolute perfection, otherwise save the cash and do what James said.

yes, needs to be fully stripped down. Shop is gonna charge you atleast 1-2 hours to do that, @ $40+ an hour.
