the transmission on my wives 91 accord wagon started in 2nd and only went to 3rd, hitting 5krpm at 55mph

she said it now wont go past 20 mph, so im guessing its stuck in 1st now.

this sounded like a synchro issue to me at first but i disconnected the battery since it was sitting and when i hooked it back up to move it the problem was gone
she managed to drive it normally for the past week but the problem has returned

additional info: the problem started when the "S" light on the dash for sport went on and clicking the "S" button on the shifter no longer turned the "S" dash light off, when the battery was disconnected and reconnected the "S" light finally

Is there some sort of trans sylinoid for the SPORT mode, that would malefaction?

 

i guess ill check the TCU before i dump money into it all

 

I'd also get the codes from the TCU before replacing.....
