Help! 97 civic ex wont start.

Hey, my 97 civic ex wont start SOMETIMES, i will have the clutch engaged and ill turn the key and ill just hear one loud CLICK. one click. car wont even try to turn over just loud click, someone help please

test the starter and battery.
i think its the stater. hit it with a tire iron lol
