I want AWD and boost , and I cant stay off the track , you guys know all should this.
the new car will see its share of the dirt also as I got a chance to run a few sessions on Beaverun's rallycross track and it pushed me over the edge
Dirt is fun too.

Ross - who is waiting for an EVO VIII to wear #187

ugh...Ross you just described my worst nightmare.
although I view the WRX as essentially the exact same car (market wise) as the AWD DSMs were. They were very popular with the drag racers and stunnas but there has never been a big theft problem for them.
Also to note is that engine swaps are popular for hondas, but not for other makes.
the only worthwhile subie swap would be to drop a WRX engine in a GC8 Impreza RS, and there just arent enough of those around to create a huge theft problem
come STi time.....there might be a different story....

you know, that's true about the DSMs...but the missing ingredient is "what other cars will the parts swap into?"
I guess part of the problem is that most of the little affordable cars that Honda makes are so damn cool - Civics, CRXs, Del Sols, and they will all accept B-series (and even H-series) transplants. For example, the EG and EK Civic hatches are very beautifully-designed cars. I personally prefer the EK to my own DC2 design.
There is no shame in driving a hybrid Honda hatch, in most cases quite the opposite...most Honda people have Jack Harris' car as their own personal Dream Car. But I imagine no-one (especially not a self-respecting stunna) would want to be caught dead in a DSM-powered Mitsubishi Mirage.
Subarus are definitely developing the kind of cool cachet with the younger crowd that the Mitsus (save the DSMs themselves) never did.

impreza L with 2.5RS swap..........then boost
or at least thats my initial plan.
having a hard time finding a legacy turbo , since they only sold 256 in 5 speed.
Jamie what I meant was the only swap using stolen WRX parts that a stunna would think about doing
turboed 2.5 is a killer engine, and a GC8 Impreza chassis is about as lightweight as you can get in a awd sedan, and is still pretty stiff
2.2l turbo legacy motor would be good too, probably more reliable. a few local guys have done that swap.

I'm glad you think its a stiff / light chassis , makes me feel alot better since I dont know much about the Ru's.
