my 99 dx has a 98 hx motor swap in it including the hx floor harness.... i was wondering if using the 98 hx floor harness on my 1999 dx is going to cause my sensors in the gas tank that regulates fuel pressure to mess up..... or cause it to not work properly or cause the valves that open for gas vapors to mess up......according to majestic numbers. the components in the gas tank differs from 98 and 99,... diff part numbers.... all the plugs go in though

 

shouldn't have any affect, if i recall they are the same part number from honda.

 

i just checked the part number on majestic honda... alot of the solenoids and sensors have different part numbers....

 

Are any CEL codes thrown?

 

no cel at alll and CEL does work cause i did throw one for secondary o2 which i fixed... but the part numbers on the 98 hx gas tank stuff are different than the 99-00... and the 99-00 has ORVR

 

according to the service manual, 96-98 gas tank vents gas fumes into charcoal canister over the driving period as pressure builds up in the tank

, and 99-00 has the ORVR system in the gas tank. which vents gas fumes into the canister while pumping gas.....

my theory is... the 98 hx ecu that i am running is not compatible with the sensors and components in the 99-00 gas tanks EVEN THOUGH they plug in perfectly, which will cause it to not vent any gas vapors into the charcoal canister or potentially leaving air pockets or something.. again.. theory....
