Has anyone mounted Porsche wheels on a Honda? Post it up.

d90s, phone dials, 7 slots, fuchs, lobster claws, twists, clubs spots, cookie cutter, etc etc.

Ive been searching but haven't seen any on a Civic. Theoretically all you'd need is a set of
4x100-5x130 adapters right? I find it difficult to believe no one has done this before.

This arguement could be made for any wheel that isn't oem. ls webs - its a honda, not an acura. bmw bottlecaps - its a honda, not a bmw. diamond racing steelies - its a honda, not a boat trailer.

I mean the Volkswagen guys are doing it and we've jumped on every other trend they've got, why not this too?



Even if it ISN'T a good idea, people do dumb **** to their Hondas all the time. I can't believe no one has done it before, if not solely for the sake of being the only Civic on Porsche wheels.

Also the necessity of a 4x100-5x130 adapter means you could make the offset whatever you wanted. Aka infinitelyflush or whatever. Where are the fitment guys on this?

 

This stretched tire rollin, widened steel wheel wearin, roof rack sportin intentional rust piece of **** cars need to stay with the odd Euro crowd.

Who ever said that we need to do everything they do? You a sheep? Follow everyone? You want lame and pointless, non functional trends, buy a VW.

That list of modifications doesn't really match my car, however it does match alot of people's which brings me back to my O.G. question of: Why have I not seen this done before.

I'm not saying I want to do it. If I did, I understand enough about bolt patterns and offsets to make a set fit without making a thread about it. I'm just saying there are enough bandwagon-jumpers that it seems like someone would have done it by now and there seems to be no evidence of that.

I want to see a set fitted on a civic regardless of how good/bad, dope/dook, ****/lame of an idea it is. Just to prove that its been done.

 

Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should. Again...build a Honda, not a Euro.

Looks like they could be steelies with wheel covers on them.

There's so many nice wheels around with the correct bolt pattern for a Honda, so why buy something that isn't meant to fit and doesn't really look that good either?

If you like this then look into a 5x114.3 hub swap and 97-01 Prelude (base) wheels, the wheels look very similar to the ones in the last picture posted above. Those 18" Porsche "twistys" can be had in a nicer 16" size by Honda.

 

I did not specify whether I believe this to be safe or unsafe. The thread was not titled "Look how safe wheel spacers are". Your question is irrelevant in this thread.

However, to answer the question, yes. I believe that wheel spacers should be used as intended and with the correct hardware. If these precautions are taken I see no reason why they wouldn't be safe for city and highway driving, though track use should be avoided.

This makes 0 sense to me. So if something can go wrong, lets make sure we are on public highways/streets where we are surrounded by innocent people rather than being on a race track where it's ok to break??

 

On a track, a driver will push his or her equipment much harder than a driver on the street. Because of the added strain of driving so aggressively, equipment will be more likely to fail.

The operator of a vehicle with wheel adapters should be aware that the purpose of those wheel adapters is to display decorative wheels that would not normally bolt to their vehicle. That driver should understand this concept and drive accordingly. For example: bolting Porsche wheels to your Civic alters the appearance. It does not cause the Civic to drive, handle, or brake like a Porsche. So, don't drive it like it is.

I thought this was pretty self explanitory but maybe you misinterpreted my post. More likely though, you understood what I meant just fine and tried to turn what I said into something else because the thread is becoming a flame war and no longer has anything to do with the original topic.

 

Nah man I'm not one of those types that get online just to argue, I'm just strongly against the tire stretch scene and when I think of Porsche, I think wide. Unless it's a track car, there is absolutely no reason for a Civic or Integra to have anything wider than a 7.5. If your car needs more tractioin, get a better tire. Like someone above said, with as many wheel options that are available for our cars, why not choose one that actually fits the car without the need of adapters/spacers/body mods or ridiculous camber settings.

Just an honest question is all.
