Default Anyone have a source of 6061 fuel rail blanks?

Hello I am a new user on the site. I am currently looking for some 6061-T6 aluminum fuel rail blank in the -8 size, in how ever long of lengths I can find them extruded.

I have been looking around and all I can find is 6063-T5 fuel rail blanks which is an alloy that I dont want to trust with the pressures I am putting into the tube. If anyone has a source or knows where I can get the stronger 6061 alum blanks it would help me out greatly. After that you can guess that I am not intending on using this as a fuel rail but I have another very different kind of project I would like to use this extrude on.

Thanks for the help.

Andrew

Also it is a softer material that gums up mill bits quicker and is generally gives a crappier time machining but because its softer most of the extrudes are made from it because its easier to push it through the mold, that is my problem trying to find some 6061 extrude I cant seem to find a company that sells it although I do see companies that sell finished 6061 fuel rails so I am assuming its out there somewhere.

What kind of pressure are you running? I can machine you one if you need just one.

About 850psi could dump in if one system fails. If both regs fail then 4500 psi max can dump in but something else would blow out before that pressure ever reached the fuel rail. But operating pressures would range from application. One project I have in mind will have an average pressure of 850 that can go up to 1200 and down to 600psi depending on temperature. Other projects in the 400-200psi range.

No thanks on machining it, it is possible for me to do that as well but would like to find the extrude so I can get 12' sections of the stuff at a time for much less then the cost of machining from a block.

You're gonna need to worry about a lot more than just the material if you have a failure situation of 4500psi

i'v used the ross machine racing extrusion in one of my projects, i had to do some work on it on the bridgeport and it really gunks the cutters and bits, i drilled the injector holes very slow and it still didnt come up perfect,

our oem honda rails are alot harder.

I know there are two burst disks in the setup in this case. Worst case the secondary inline reg blows out before the fuel rail pops.

Checked out the ATPTurbo site no luck on that, they dont offer the right size. Inner diameter is 11/16" on most of the -8 rail dimensions I have seen, I care more about that then any other dimension of the rail.

6063 is a softer aluminum that tends to gum up easily depending on how it is being lubed and cut.

That is one of the reasons I would rather not use it. Mostly because of the anodizing color difference between it and the 6061.

What kind of time frame do you need this in, and what outside dimensions? Reason I ask, I am having a custom fuel rail extrusion made out of 6061.. I am still playing with the dimensions a bit to make sure it will work for all of my applications.. It will be coming to me in 12 foot lengths..

1" OD .685-.69" ID sooner is better but I dont have an urgent need for it or I would just machine from billet.
