Spoon B16B ??
I have a B16B but it doesn't have a serial number. Some people have said it might be spoon but it doesn't have any spoon plaque. How else can i identify it?

The only way to really know is to rip the engine apart and check the balance of the rotating assembly. If it's within 1g it's probably a spoon engine.
The engines aren't particularly special, just ripped apart by a spoon tech and balanced a bit better than honda does, which is merely for race purposes. When you're racing for 4-10hours at a time you really need a properly balanced engine.
The engines are not more powerful or anything. Just more reliable.

Is there a # stamped (or riveted?) on the tranny or engine?
I could run a partial engine component ID number and tell you.
I did this on my car and found out the tranny isn't original.
I know you don't have a serial # but are there any numbers anywhere else?

There is no other numbers on the engine or tranny. Plus its converted to OBD1. I hope its the real thing. I also heard that engines that have no serial numbers are replacement motors from the dealer, but don't really know.
The intake manifold is an OBD1 also. OBD2 manifolds have more sensors on them. It also has a spoon grounding kit and a spoon clutch line.
We don't even have emissions. The government has never inspected my car.
I can take off the valve cover and take a pic later?
Good buy. If it is a JDM motor, then for sure it won't have VIN tags on the motor of transmission. Just make sure you keep a copy of the receipt in the car because the Police will for sure give you a hard time. But then they should know that it is a JDM motor before they make any assumption.

Spoon B18C will have a 2.0L stoker kit.
Yes, it's used and might need a rebuild. But if it's good and truely is a Spoon motor then it's a good buy.
I'm just going to stop posting now so I won't derail this thread.
