Gabriel Rear Shocks = Disapointing
Im fairly new with a hole 1 thread
, but a quick background.
Working on a 95 Accord CD5
Currently attempting to replace the rear shocks. Got as far as having 1 strut out and stripped down, open up my gabriel ultra and find it doesnt have the nut attached at the bottom of the shock like the factory shock (so ill have to go find a replacement nut). Also in the box was a Nylon lock nut which was to large to fit the top of the strut and a split pin which is not needed for this shock....
So a little disgruntled I open up the second box to find the same model shock, with the right nut and the bump stop plate. Also this shock was painted in a high shine gloss, the first being painted in a matt black and labelled slightly differently...
Off to the shop tomorrow to see if I can source the items I need to get this show back on the road. and if not they will be returned and posssibly munroes to replace them. Assuming they are any better.
If anyone else has had a similar problem or can give me some pointers please feel free to help me out. Im still attemtping to avoid OEM parts as the price on the wallet almost makes the extra stress worth it.
