Did you check your owners manual? Mine specifies 87 for my 97 civic LX.

whats the comperssion ratio on that motor? unless its crazy high you could probably get away with the cheap stuff, on the east coast over here usually the best you can get is 93 unless you are at track or gas station near a track.

Woops, I mean 98 civic LX and, I quote, "Your Honda is designed to operate on unleaded gasoline with a pump octane number of 86 or higher."

Can't even get 97 octane here.

Guys, he is in AUSTRAILIA.
They have different have different standards.
US is AKI.
Austrailia is RON.
Use our AKI numbers (87, 89, 91 or 93) from a US owner's manual found online and use this website:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_...en_RON_and_AKI
to look up your RON number.
Or just google an Austrailian owner's manual...
