I stripped a hole in my tranny, and this stuff come to mind. I saw it many years ago on public access tv. I was thinkin about doing it to fill the hole i stripped, re-drill, and re-tap it. good as new...However. How safe is it to put a propane torch in the engine bay>?

Posted this in Tech..never got a response. Maybe you guys can help me out?

i think you might have to drain the fluids and what not, and make sure the car is OFF. I think if you do that it should be safe to do.

stay away from fuel lines and keep the flame to a minimum and you should be o.k.
:Note: I said "Should" not "Will" I don't want to be liable if you blow yourself and your car up

I was thinkin about puttin in a fuel cutoff, or pulling the fuel fuse, and run the car till it stalls, so there is no fuel , or little fuel near the engine bay..sound good?

You should be safe as long as you use a damp cloth to cover up most of the fuel and electrical components inside the engine.
