VSS, I have searched...still have questions.
I received my eBay VSS this afternoon and got started on installing when I got called in to work. Anyway, pops finished the install, took it for a test spin and said both the S light and CEL came on again. I'm at work so I can't check for the actual codes until I get home in the AM. While I was there though, the wiring looked good, not frailed(spelling?) or anything like that. Is that little metal clip that holds the connectors part of a grounding system or is it just to hold the cable in place above the sensor???
Is there a fuse or relay that affects this particular circuit that I need to check?
I also told him to remove the negative battery cable and the backup 7.5 fuse and leave it for about 10 minutes to clear the codes and afterwards he drove it again and both lights came back on. The tranny still jerks a bit he says and the speedo still goes crazy. I'm also going to take the old VSS and try to clean it per instructions I found on here: http://techauto.awardspace.com/vss.html
