H22A EG Hatch {Hasport Mounts}
Hey everyone..
I ended up getting a set of Logicmotorsports.com headers "HighEnd" for my h22 swapped hatch and I really want to see if anyone has attempted to raise the engine in the bay either by spacers of some sort or machining the hasport mounts so the engine headers dont kiss the ground.
My civic isn't really that low and I have a set of megan racing coilovers. Although I bottom out with anyone in the passenger seat its really annoying.
I really don't want to raise the car up any.. I can post photos eventually although I'm at work now.
Anyone have any suggestions? different mounts?? I have the hasport axles.

If you're already scraping with a passenger, I think you should lift the car up a little.
The H22 is a taller motor than a B series. It's a cool swap, but if you're sitting really low, I think your combination is just an issue. I looked at the header and it looks like a good design and probably the one with the most ground clearance. I think the problem lies in that most mounts try to sit the motor down so it doesn't need propped up a lot and to align axles better and keep the center of gravity down. You just need to sacrifice somewhere, either find mounts that sit it up higher and sacrifice axle longevity and hood clearance, or lift the car.
Are you doing an H2B swap or straight H swap? I know the engine is leaned back 15* in a Prelude to begin with for clearance. And an H2B swap sits it straight up and hoods always have to be propped up some.
How about listing your complete setup including ground clearance and maybe pictures?

i believe there is two different styles of mounts for this swap one lifts the motor higher then the other. i just believe u will loose the hood clearance alil this way
As for my setup I guess its just an H22 with its transmission, lsd, hasport mounts and hasport axles.
I had bought my mounts back in 2008 so I'm not sure what options were available then... its quite possible I have the wrong mounts or not the correct height.
I am planning on parking the car on a level surface and putting a rod/stick something under the car up to where the hood is to measure how much space is between the valve cover and hood to see where I'm at if I need to make something or order something different... who knows.
Maybe contact hasport directly?.... NO Idea! I need to sit down and start scratching my head a while and poke at the problem.
--Apexi_RSX --- You know I believe that, I was recently at a honda meet and someone had informed me that hasport made mounts for the J32 swap in a civic and two options were available, low to the ground and no clearance, or high up off the ground and you have to cut a hole in the hood.
haha I don't wanna raise the car :\
we only sell one h-series mount kit for the 92-95 civic EGH2
the kit was designed to allow the engine to fit under the hood and still have a somewhat decent axle angle
as with any swap where you are putting in an engine that was not intended to go there in the first place there are gives and takes that come into play

Nooo!
I will figure something out, either make some 1/2 inch spacers and try it out or have the engine mounts machined somehow and if it fails, I can always have some plates made and put them back to the correct height.
meh! I accept this challenge
