Yesterday I was speeding(not going to lie) I was downshifting from 4th all the way down to 1st gear when I heard a loud snap followed by winding down grind noise. Got real freaked out so I got off the main street into a residential street as i accelerated i heard the winding grinding again( this time real low). I didnt want to call a tow truck since I was 5 minutes away from home so I got back onto the main street and when I shifted from 2nd to 3rd the clutch sounded like it slipped or grinded so i slowed down a bit and came to a red light when I downshifted from 2nd to 1st the grinding noise was real loud. I called 3 shops and they all said it was the syncros. What do you guys think?

 

You'll need to rebuild or replace the transmission.

Then you'll need to learn how to drive.

 

ive always had bettter luck just replacing the whole trans instead of opening them up and what not.

 

You shouldn't be shifting into first over like 5mph anyways
