92 hatch si - my fuel gauge reads incorrectly
have 92 hatch si and my fuel gauge reads incorretly. does fuel sender have problems or cluster? witch one is the most likely to be it. nb to hondas
I just did my b18b swap in my 93 CX and my fuel gauge has always done the hard right turn issue when the level drops. but now(after the swap) it reads wrong too. I know this because at a 1/4 tank it's empty(ran out of gas). And the gas light no longer works either. I believe I saw something about how to fix this but I can't find it any where now. And sorry....not trying to thread jack!!!!!
Check the FAQ's, there are a couple threads in there about upgrading your fuel sender as well as the testing procedures for in tank fuel level sender.
Ahh, this...
Left turn = better mpg
Right turn = bad mpg
XD;
Tis caused by the lack of baffles in the fuel tank, allowing the fuel to slosh back and forth and throw off the readings from the fuel float.
Couple of easy fixes:
New fuel sender
OR
A fuel consumption meter that actually measures how much fuel is passing through your system. MUCH more accurate than a needle, but not sure how much it costs ^^;
