Default 1994 CX Hatchback power lock conversion

Hello HT,

I am getting tired of manually unlocking and locking my 94 CX Hatchback. I was wondering what the easiest solution is to get power locks for my vehicle. I want the conversion to be as OEM as possible but would that mean replacing my door panels with EX ones?

I really don't want to go with an aftermarket kit or aftermarket alarm system that has power locks built in. Is there a way to use EX power locks without changing my CX door panels? If so what remote would I need to complete the conversion?

Well it depends on what you want. If you just get the OEM lock actuators from the junk-yard, you could probably wire them up to your alarm with a relay to have keyless entry. Then you wouldn't need to modify your door panels to add the switch on the drivers door panel.

If you want the full OEM system, with the drivers door priority circuit, then it's quite an extensive process, that requires you pull a LOT off wire harnesses out of an EX model, and cutting them up to build your own sub-harness. The good thing about this method is it will give the option to add power windows (you will need the door panels for this), and power mirrors

I just read about this a couple weeks ago. You need the following crap from an EX:
- Drivers door solenoid
- Drivers door harness
- Drivers door Lock control module
- Drivers door lock button
- Drivers side wire harness (runs past the door to the back)
- Main wire harness
- Passengers door harness
- Passengers door lock solenoid

Here is the thread:

If you just do the door locks, you should only have to cut a hole to add the lock switch to your stock door panel

What are my options if I don't have an alarm and don't want an alarm? I just want power locks without having to change my existing door panels. Can I use the EX setup without modifying my current door panel for the switch button? I don't really want to cut my existing panel if I don't have to.

I did a DIY on adding power locks, you can keep your manual crank windows, don't need the lock/unlock switch.

this is almost 100% completely wrong misinformation. you dont have to cut up and build anything. the power sub harness is separate from the main harness once u open up the big black plastic wire loom.

to OP: if youre gonna go through the work of adding just power locks might as well ad the power windows too. its really not that hard once u have all the parts together. i dont understand your concept of "keeping it oem" they are just door lock actuators. who cares if they are aftermarket. im sure any alarm place can install the power locks with alarm for 150 or less. at least locally thats the going rate.

OP: I'm confused on what your looking for. You don't want keyless entry, and you don't want a button to work the locks? WTF?

What are you talking about. That's exactly what I explained. I even provided a link on how to do it. It will require you to pull apart (sorry I used the word "cut") an EX harness. That means you have to get one first, along with all the other crap I mentioned...

WTF again?

Main harness connects to passenger door harness. Main harness connects to rear harness. Rear harness connects to drivers door harness. Drivers door harness connects to acuator and lock control module...

What I'm looking for is the easiest way to have power locks and keyless entry without having an alarm. I basically want an OEM Honda remote to control unlocking and locking my car. Is this possible?

As I stated before, I don't want to go to an alarm shop because I have had bad luck in the past with aftermarket alarms/keyless entry. I prefer to do it myself this time around. If I can't do it the way I want I will leave it the way it is.

Power windows are a whole separate issue. I prefer to keep my windows manual. I want to keep the car as stock as possible for resale purposes. I hope everyone can understand that.
