Summer and Winter Tires, what to do in the fall and spring
For those of you running Summer and Winter Tires, what the heck do you do in the spring and fall? I decided to try out summer tires for the first time this year and we just hit our first rainy day in the 50's and I thought I was going to skid off the road...but obviously its still too warm to swap on the winters...I'm thinking allseasons may actually have a purpose in this respect. do you run a third set of tires?

Check pressures often, especially as the temp changes.
summer compound tires should be fairly flexible down to about 40 degrees (F) or so..... if your past experience indicates they didn't work well below 50, it may also have been due to a tread depth issue as well.......(especially in wet conditions)

I drove last winter on my 280 tread wear neo gens lol. Didn't have 1 single problem even snow covered roads. If you have or can afford winter tires it is definetly recommended though. I have some snow tires on extra wheels this year that came on my last car so we'll so how much better that goes.

FWIW, These tires are BF Goodrich G-force sport with about 6,000 mi on them. The worst was when it was lightly raining and about 50 degrees...at worst 45 degrees on asphalt. The car was nearly paralyzed at stop lights, like I was driving on ice. I basically had to start in 2nd gear. While moving at about 45 mph I would feel the rear end meandering. Complete loss of front end traction when making a right hand turn at normal speed. Scary as heck for only being September.

Its just a stock B16. Dont know what to tell you. At one point I had a semi truck next to me at the light (in the rain as mentioned above) and I essentially had to match his acceleration to keep from biting it...all the while thinking this is crazy how bad these tires are. Over the past few weeks it appears the magic temperature is about 50. Traction is obviously far worse on asphalt rather than concrete.
Although I enjoyed these tires over the summer, man I'm wishing I had my allseasons again now to get me through november.

But, those were "adequate tread, but aged out" tires. Rubber gets hard as it gets old, and doesn't drip the same. Mine were 7 years old at the time (according to the sidewall date, I'd only had them for 3 years), and were past their usable lifespan.
Check the date on your tires, and make certain that they haven't aged out.
Umm u might wanna stop dumping the clutch then. There is no way ur spinning that much with a stock b16 in rain. Try this slight throttle and realease clutch slowly garanteed u wont spin. Hell on dam ice i can move without spinning tires. U just need to get off from mashing the throttle and slow it down before u hurt urself or anyone else on the road. My .02
Tires are only 2 years old, looks good. No clutch dumping, thanks for the obvious advice.... i'm not the one who totaled my 00 si.
Haha u asked the question i gave u the response.. Ive never caused any accident its called f250 rearending u and shoving u into a crown vic and making ur nice em1 turn into a crx.. Nice try though
Solution, move to new location where the weather doesn't suck. 85 degrees on October 7th, going to the beach this weekend... this is livin the life.
