B16A runs very sluggish
I have a JDM B16A and it accelerates very sluggish. I have been recently getting it put back together after the previous owner ****ed it up. The problem I have with it is that while idling in neutral you can't rev it past 4k rpm's but when you drive it will go over that limit. Also the first and third cylinders are running hotter than the second and fourth cylinders. When I took the spark plugs out after letting it run the first and third were dry and a little black while the second and fourth were wet. Obviously this is a problem. I feel like it may be an injector problem but I'm not sure. I have good plugs, I get spark and fuel, I replaced the O2 sensor today with an OEM one and all my fuses are good. I'm not sure if any of this is related to this problem but those are things that I've done. Also would not having the emissions canister hooked up have anything to do with this? Only the bottom hose coming off of it is connected to a metal brake line type hose. The two hoses that come off the top are not connected to anything. Sorry for the long post but if anyone can help me that would be great.
launch control is set to 4k
if you bought it like that, then maybe the engine might be on its way out. buying someones chipped/tuned/fuct up ride isnt a good thing.
This is why i never buy anyones modded ride. they either fuct it up or on its way to being fuct up.
i dont know what a JDM B16a map is.. sounds like just a basemap to me

Ok so I was thinking about this and I may have figured it out.. not sure though. So I have the B16 motor and it's stock ecu would be a P30 since it is OBD1. Now the ecu I have is a OBD1 P75 chipped to P72 with a B16 map but on the ecu towards the part where you connect it it says PR4 which comes from the Integra ls/gs which is a non vtec ecu. If it is an actual PR4 and not what it was stated to be would that account for no noticeable vtec change over, very sluggish acceleration and the other problems I was having with running rich and the cylinders not running the same temp on all four?
this might sound retarded but did you change your oil and filter? I ran my ls/vtec too long past when it needed an oil change when I first got it (prev owner said he'd change oil since it needed it, apparently didn't) and it was low on oil so the vtec solenoid wasn't engaging and it was running like you described
