Default Accord MSD Installation issues

Here is my problem. I installed the cap, rotor, gasket and a MSD Blaster SS coil in a 94 Accord Ex. Took the internal coil out and runed the wires from the internal coil to the external MSD coil. Noticed when I went to read the voltage of the wires that I connected to the external coil nothing was measuring. So I threw a cable from the ignition switch and a ground directly from the chasis. Now the voltage measures around 6.5V I heard that could be normal depending the type of ignition you have. So my car starter before installing the MSD. And now it doesn't even crank sometimes. Dunno what could it be. Any help would be appreciated.

Why the MSD Blaster coil?

Honestly, there really isn't any ignition gain over stock when using the blaster coil on a near stock engine. IMO, you would be better off putting the internal coil back in and using the OEM ignition.

I'm not sure how you have this wired or what wires you used from the distributor. It's hard to diagnose a wiring issue when the wires used are unknown. There are a few internal to external threads online that might be able to help you out.... I remember seeing them in passing. However, I do not know the exact site(s).

Yea MSD is garbage, I had it in my h22 EG and after about 5k it wouldn't spark enough and I had NO power. Plus, I do believe the OEM coil puts out more power than an MSD coil, but i'm not 100% sure.

It's worthless.

Jesus Christ....
MSD isnt "garbage", nor is it needed for a stock car. Period.

Your post is wrong and judging by it I wouldnt be suprised if it was user error that cost you your coil.

That being said. I made over 600 WHP on a bone stock (as in cap rotor everything) off the JDM crate Motor distributor. I didnt change cap rotor or anything.

I ONLY put the 7-AL2 in my car when aproaching 700 and beyond at the wheels. I guarantee it will light you up so bad youll squeal like a girl.
