I need to do my 30k maintenance and i'm not sure what I need to do. If it's easy stuff like changing the plugs I'll do that myself. TIA

Crap I can't do a valve adjustment myself...How much you think this will cost me at a dealership?

 

For a typical 30K maitenece it will probably be around $300 or a little more...

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure it's pricey, worth it though unless you can do it yourself. Or find someone who can do it on the side.

 

The only major thing is a valve adjustment.
I never thought I'd be able to do it but its not that hard!
Just buy some feeler gauges and a valve adjudtment tool from Snap-On ....

drive to nj and i'll teach you how to do the valve adjustment. you just have to bring the pizza and a 6.

 

I just got my 30k service, $385 . But afterwards it felt like a new car. My 5th gear synchro was fucked and after they did the tranny fluid flush it was gone.

Expensive but worth it.

 

you don't need to do plugs or wires or fuel filter at 30k. stock platinum plugs are good for 100k miles according to acura. i'm going to do mine at 60k.

do oil, tranny fluid, valve adjustment. coolant too if you're ****.

I've got that 30k coming up soon, too. You bet your *** I am not spending $385 to take my car to some dealer. No way. I'll fug it up myself. Can you say: Chicago area valve adjustment meet?

 

i just got mine done at the dealership and it was only $190 with a coupon, you guys that paid over $300 got ripped off.

 

U damn right i got ripped off.

 

Ugg.. maybe it's time to make an appointment.... I need them to check out my clutch anyway and I'm coming up on 30k...

Valve adjustment

wires (not needed but go for it)
fuel filter
and a fresh oil change
coolant change
mtf change (tranny fluid)
inspect all belts
grease doors (watch out for the idiots who are gun happy at the dealer)
lube antennae
visual inspection of most crap

Forgetting other stuff...my car is basically on the "constant maintenance interval"

lube antennae. Good call man I've gotta do that too. I'd also check on my brake pads if they weren't changed anytime close to your 30k

 

where did you get your maintenance at, I stopped by Thomas Acura in Covina and they wanted something like $400

I would seriously recommend you just get one and check out the front few pages....it lists everything....and then the rest of the manual shows how to do it.

oh yeah with the brakes....it's probably time for you....I recommend new rotors (Autozone) and Axxis Ultimates
