Questions for all Integra Owners
I know this is a strange question but. Does anyone get harassed by cops as much as I do? Literally I have cops tail me more often in my Integra then in my Buick I drive to work... I know its sporty in all but still. I got pulled over today with no apparent reason. They just interrogated me and let me go with nothing. With no reason for being pulled over.
Anyone have this issue? I'm about to literally sell my Teggy because of it.
"CANT A MAN GET GAS FOR HIS CAR WITHOUT BEING PULLED OVER BY SOME JACKASS COP"
Here's what she looks like...

sounds like a trouble car that nobody would want... ill take it off your hands for cheap so you dont have to deal with it anymore. =D
Its always gonna come down to the area you live in and sometimes the mods on the car. One of the reasons i avoid some things that are certain to attract attention like aftermarket exhaust. I eventually put my front plate back on just to have one less thing to get pulled over for. But in general i dont sweat the cops. I drive pretty normal most of the time and dont get hassled. The areas i travel sometimes are known to be prone to hassle by cops. The way i see it, its a roll of the dice depending on where youre driving, whether the cop had a doughnut in the morning or not or any number of variables that just happen through the day.
Sometimes its the way you look or act also. Most people avoid looking at cops like they dont see them. I look over at them like i would any other car and sometimes wave or nod. Even so i never know if they might want to pull me over for whatever reason or not. I DO know when i have an expired tag and they end up behind me that im getting pulled over. -_-

Hard to say, but its most likely because it looks modded and you are young. Is it really loud? Are you driving it a little hot?
How are you dressed?
I have never been followed or pulled over in the Integra in 11 years of driving it.
When I was younger with long hair driving a primer black 67 Camaro, I got that treatment all the time.

I drive a white DC4 with JDM front, exhaust(no cat), and white wheels with polished lip that's pretty low to the ground. I've yet to be pulled over, but I usually drive during daylight, I drive slow on the streets, and I don't look like a scumbag. All my lights work, I have a front license plate. *knock on wood*
I've driven by cops numerous times without them even giving me a second look. This doesn't go to say that the cops in my area aren't dicks though. A few weeks ago my friend got popped because his JDM OEM fog lights on his EK were "too low from the ground." Cop popped his hood and sent him to the ref because of his H22 under the hood.
This is in the South Orange County area(Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Lake Forest, etc).

Install your front licence plate, see what happens.
Here in B.C. you will get a ticket if you do not have a front plate on the car, over in Alberta, [next Provence to the East] they don't even give you a front plate.
Another thing to keep in mind, if you have ever been a ***** to a cop that pulled you over, your car will be flagged and you will get stopped again and again, be a ***** and they will treat you that way.
If they are harassing you for no reason, try this, have a recording device, audio/video, and turn it on any time you are stopped, note the time and day, be polite, ask why you were pulled over, answer any questions you have to, if it happens too often, find a lawyer and lay a harassment complaint.
Also keep in mind the cop stopping you is the same guy you want stopping your car if it ever got stolen. 94

Not that you're a ricer, but to the average cop, your car looks like it was in Fast and Furious. And I'm sure it's loud and you drive it aggressively on occasion. Young people who drive these kinds of cars are frequent violators of minor traffic laws that cops love to enforce, like exhaust and window tinting. Plus, these cars are stolen so often that cops are often on the lookout for one. So, it's only natural.
I get pulled all the time in mine as well man. Mostly for tint (which I have a permit for) but yeah, seams they expect to find a punk kid driving them. It was told to me once by a phoenix police officer that they love pulling 240sx as well bc "they almost always find something"
just roll with the punches, lol.

if ur in California, i would recommend putting ur front license plate on the vehicle like a few others have mention already. getting pull over should be a good thing if your vehicle ever gets stolen. if u didn't do anything, then no worries. ride looks clean. i would keep it unless ur looking to move on to something else.
Sorry guys, maybe its because I am older and cranky but I do not subscribe to the "if you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about".
Being stopped for no reason is BS. I don't need some civil servant power tripping and stopping me just because he can. Accepting this erosion of rights is a trip down a slippery slope.

i have literaly the exact same problem and not just me its honestly every modded honda in our town gets pulled over for this or that and the reasons range from exhaust to stickers! during the summer when were out more were pulled over 3 sometimes 4 times a week and they have no reason when they come to the car and start sniffing around. sometimes it takes them weeks to pull us over for things like stickers on our windshields in the upper left hand as u look at the front u cant even see the stickers in your view and there on there for a year or so and then all of a sudden they wack us every day for them till we all have to take them off! it makes us not even wanna bother doing anything to our cars. it is kinda rediculious that instead of doing drugs like the rest of the teenage and underaged kids in the town we live in we try to do something more constructive and get introuble.
had my teg since 07 and got pulled over once because the police didnt see my license plate but when he saw it, he let me off..
no hassle for being lowered, exhaust, hid, tints or because i own an integra and look young(24)

haha yeah.
thanks for all the input guys. right now she getting ready for storage. time to use my cheap civic for the winter. yeah BOY
theres pulling you over cause your speeding or actually doing something and then theres seeing another one of those cars that fits a profile lets see what we can get them for.
my advice to you dude is be positive. smile and watch and remmember what they do. document everything that they do when you interact with them. the good and the bad. theres attorneys specialized in police misconduct they even give free consultations.
but yeah most importantly you be positive all the time. it might not be their fault.. there may be a person that lives along the route you drive and calls to complain about you all the time. Do you have a loud exhaust by chance?
just remember although at this point im sure you have a negative view of police officers there are good ones out there. Im sure ive gotten pulled over as much as if not more then you depending on our respective ages. and its mainly only by the same police department... ive been pulled over in other areas by other cops but those interactions were actually very friendly even when i got a ticket. it can be night and day difference from one area to another. police misconduct is a very real problem that is mostly covered up. the stories you hear on the tv are the ones that manage to get through their filter or when they have horribly gone too far.
but dont just believe that just because your doing nothing , nothing wont happen. murphys law is a bitch. I was more recently pulled over because they said i was on my cell phone... at the time i didnt even own one and i had nothing in the car that lights up even the face of my stereo is very dim.... but i was on my way home from my job as a tutor and was dressed very nice so they didnt realy bother me too long. at the same time it shows if they want to think they see you doing something in order to check you out or instigate a situation... theres not really much you can say otherwise unless you document a long term behavior of it.
because some police officers are big time instigators and theyl treat you like your guilty before you even know what it is they think your guilty of and in some cases if they already have some prejudice against you theyll really try to instigate. very rarely in my town have i met good officers. but they are out there. i imagine its more stressful to work in some areas then in others but still his situation is not unique....

no i live on the side of the street. i have no neighbors...
even if i did they are a good quarter mile away...
they probably think im some kid with a hot car....
but im a grown adult and just enjoy the import scene...
