Default Acura EL tire size and suspension advice

Hey guys, i have a 2000 Acura El, and i'm looking for some new tyres, i know the stock size is 195 55 15, i was wondering if anyone has ever tried 195 50 15, would anyone advise against this tyre size?

Also, i am looking for suggestions on which springs to use with the KYB GR2 shocks, i need to change the shocks and springs (the rear of the car is sagging a fair bit), i use the car as a daily driver, so, i would like to maintain a comfortable ride, but improving handling and responsiveness is something i would definitely be interested in. Or if someone would suggest a different shock altogether? I am open to suggestions.

Thanks

p.s. i'm new to Acuras, spent the last couple years working on my Nissan 300zx..soo i have experience with nissans, hence all the questions.

I would advice against changing tire diameter, as it will throw the speedometer and odometer off.

GR2 = OEM equivalent shock
If your looking for improved performance, you'll need to consider other options.

It's fairly rare for springs to actually sag, so I'd recommend a good bushing inspection to see if that is the cause.

Could it be possibly be sagging because of the shocks in that case? I did inspect the bushings, when i added the ASR brace and rear sway bar...

Keep in mind that the US (where most of us on here are from) didn't get the EL, which (I think) was based off of the Domani, which we also didn't get...

I don't think worn shocks on that car will cause sagging.

How are you determining that it is sagging? Looking at the tire gap isn't a correct way to do so, since the gap isn't the same front to back.

I checked the heights based on the factory service manual.

Would there be a noticeable affect to the speedometer and odometer, with a seemingly small change in diameter ... going from 55 to 50....

Noticeable? Yes.
Significant? Not really.

Why run the wrong size though? Also, you should check the load rating of the new size and verify it will be safe before you consider it.

I see, thanks for the heads up.

Do you have any recommendations in terms of shocks and springs?

Well in most ways, parts are interchangeable between the two. Except it has more options stock than a Civic like a/c, heated power mirrors, power windows, power locks, remote keyless entry, security system, sportier springs and shocks, 13mm rear sway bar, better sound deadening, heated leather seats and sunroof on premium models, d16y8 vtec engine

I reccomend the H&R Sports (Integra application) springs, and Tokico Illumina shocks. That's what I have. This set handles great but is comfortable as well. Couple that with an ITR rear sway bar, and you got a great handling car.
