I see that Blox LCA's run about $130 and Skunk2, F&F run $215-$250. Is there any difference between materials and quality when it comes to these or is it just in the name?

The bushings will not last in those company's. Blox being the worst.

 

I was checking out the F7 Version 3's. It says they are corrosion treated dunno if that will make a difference in winters.

 

Exactly. Anything else is for showing off.

 

Having not used either one of the brands mention I am not going to rule either way.

But to answer the title of your thread. All things are not created equal so YES brands can matter. I have seen LCAs break on other vehicles and I am sure some of the cheap china ones are not made to the standards of the nicer ones. LCAs are something that if you broke one it could be very dangerous. I would not skimp here.

 

Never seen a broken OEM LCA.

 

Function 7 uses a higher grade aluminium than any of the other aftermarket lcas manufacturers, they also have the option of spherical bearings, which is a big plus considering the extremely low quality of most aftermarket lca bushings. They're the only LCA other than stock I would run on my car.

Ultimately, they are really just cosmetic, but so are a lot of other things we put on our cars. Performance should be the first priority, but that doesn't mean you need to ignore cosmetics.

 

i have blox on my ej1 they are **** the bushing was destroyed in less than 2 weeks of normal driving.
if you want the best bushing get HARD RAce or Function 7 lca. they are th best.. could eeven get the omni if you can find them.

 

im running the bwr lca's in pink. looks great and lifetime warrenty on bushings. nuf said...

+1 for oem. i hate colored lca....so tacky.

 

im running blox... bushing tore in about 6 months...

got the bushings replaced with soft pu bushings.. daily driven 2 months and a track day, still fine...

as for the bushings, the guy who i did it with said hes been using the soft pu bushings in various parts of his EF for about 5 years now and no issues.

 

THIS! and stay away from skunk 2 products. i love the function 7's on my sedan.

 

All but the bushings are not lifetime warranty like F7.

 

It's OEM or OEM w/es bushings, or F7, really the only choices here.
