99 EK Hatch Type R Swapped *Part Out* Philly
I'm parting my hatch because its time to move on from Hondas. I know what this stuff is worth and at this point this listing is a feeler to get an idea of how and when to break up the car.
LOW BALLERS WILL BE IGNORED
Serious offers will be responded to.
Ideally I'd like this motor to go to a Type R owner or someone restoring an R so it stays with someone who appreciates it.
B18C5's are hard to get in stock and unmolested condition. This motor was used as my occasional daily for 4+ years and the miles are from a PA Turnpike commute. It still has the original timing belt and water pump (next owner should change them before the motor is installed). This engine has had its oil changed every 4500 miles with Royal Purple its whole life. It is in fantastic condition and has never given me an issue.
So here's some stuff off the top of my head:
Car has 212,000mi as of right now
Swap was done @ 150,000 mi
Motor is a B18C5 from an USDM 01 Type R:
my buddy totaled the car @ 4700mi.
So the motor has roughly 62,000mi on it as of right now
The trans was replaced with a factory rebuilt one (with LSD), so it was new (0 miles and not involved in the accident) when the swap was performed.
The following was done at the time of the swap:
ACT stage 1 clutch
New (from the dealer) trailing arms (from an ITR)
Hasport motor mounts
XS Power radiator
Password JDM Whale ***** intake
Fujitsubo RM01A exhaust (very rare JDM pimpness only Honda exhaust I've ever heard that sounded good, I had to import it cost me $1200.00
Civic EX front LCA's
EX front sway
AC deleted
NGK Iridium plugs
P73 ECU w/immobilizer removed (I have the chip and the key too)
ITR front seats (Suede Son!)
Five lug suspension installed on all 4 corners
All bushings replaced w/ new factory rubber
Following installed at about 160/165k mi
Omni Power front upper LCA's
Omni Power rear upper LCA's
Omni Power rear lower LCA's
A Spec Racing rear lower subframe reinforcement brace
A Spec Racing 24mm sway bar
A Spec Racing end link kit
Brembo slotted rotors all around
Hawk HPS pads all around
Progress Series 1 TIme Attack coilovers 450lb/in front 650lb/in rear
ITR factory wheels re-powdercoated
Newer tires 50% tread left
Goodridge Stainless lines
Civic SI rack ready to be installed
I'll add more if I think of it...
The car will be stripped of the Type R and aftermarket stuff once the engine and the larger pieces are sold. The car will be kept together and drivable so the engine can be checked out while still in the car. This IS NOT A JDM MOTOR there is no BS to deal with with this swap, it has performed flawlessly since it was installed. Everything is up for grabs the shell will be sold with the old motor and trans in it (the D16 had a rod knock and the trans syncro is worn).
The shell is a 1999 Civic DX Hatch that's in good shape if you are looking for a hatch. The front end was backed into in a parking lot and the rad support was bent pretty bad. I had the car checked on a laser rack at a frame shop to see if the bastard that hit the car wrecked the frame. Luckily it was just sheetmetal damage. The car will require a rad support bumper and hood to get the front right again. There is ZERO rust in the shell (including the rear arches, they are perfect) the paint was bad from the factory so it is peeling near the edges in some spots. The car was never in any other accidents so there is no paintwork done to the car. It doesn't look great but any body guy will tell you its easier to work on a body that hasn't had bad paint jobs and bodywork done to it. Stripped EK hatch shells are going for $1000 on here and Honda-Tech that have had unknown body work done to them to repair the arch rot in the rear, this one will come as a complete car with a weak trans and a blown engine.
The bigger items I'll put prices on now and we'll see where we end up.
Motor $2750
Trans $1200
Shell $1500
Coils $700
5 Lug $1200
ITR Wheels $750
This is rough math. I'm open to negotiations but I'm not giving this stuff away for cheap. The K series has made selling the B series stuff harder but Type R stuff is much easier to install and you don't have to deal with K Pro's BS. There are alot of parts left from the original Type R shell that are up for grabs too, let me know what you might be looking for I probably have it since I took everything from the car but the frame.
Since I'm not very active on here I'm not really looking to ship but I can meet up for some of the larger items.
Thanks For Looking!
