AutoX and RoadRace classing question for 89 CRX Si
I'm looking at buying a 1989 CRX Si that has been prepped for road racing. Stripped interior, full adjustable suspension (including camber adjustment), JDM motor, roll cage.
My question is what class would this car be in for SCCA road racing, NASA ECHC and autocrossing.
Thanks in advance.

The JDM engine is what is killing you. If you want to race competitively, swap in a normal D16 and you will be in ITA, H4, and CSP - where you will be competitive in each.

It would be in Super Production Unlimited, H1, and D-Modified. You competition in each would consist of Baby Grands and Legends in SPU, other hybrid hatches in H1, and Lotus Super Sevens in DM. SPU in many regions requires full Production saftey gear (fuel cell, no glass, more cage, etc).
Unless you have an itch to run H1 with NASA, I would find a racecar that can compete in less "intimidating" classes. As Bookler mentioned, a CRX Si with the stock motor would be in ITA, H4, and CSP, and could be competitive in all three.

EDIT: forgot you said 'stripped interior'
if you could put a passenger seat and door panels and dash in you could run SM2 for autoX

remember IT prepped cars can compete in their respective SP autox class so a stripped interior with proper engine can still be in SP, i do. anyway, yeah, you screwed yourself with the engine swap for REAL road racing. also the full adjustable suspension (hey at least you didnt say TRUE coilover
) prolly puts you out of IT also. but theres TCRA that will take anyone in socal in the 2.0 touring class. and HPDE that will give track time to anyone willing to learn how to drive, which seems like should be your first thing to do.
