Default ls/vtec oil leak

hey i just built a ls/vtec and i have a small oil leak in the front corner trans side,i thought it was cuz i was using a ls dizy but i fixed that leak,does anybody have any idea,

please help

That is known around the honda community as the "VTEC leak". You need to honda-bond that corner when you put the HG and head on to seal it up. From the factory ive seen that exact leak. So unless you wanna do a HG i suggest you just keep it clean.

honda-bond is ultra grey. Nissan has their own version of it...something rvt, its orange. I have not found anything that works better than ultra grey though.

Is the head torqued down properly? Did you check your VC gasket? Vtec solenoid gasket? Cam plug?

yea head is torqued,new vc gasket and cam seal, i will check the vtec solenoid again


if i do the honda-bond where do i put it,i tryed to find a write up

When I had a leak there, it was because I had previously installed the HG backwards and thought it would be ok to just reinstall it correctly. Sadly it was creased and leaked....in that very corner. Could be a cam seal or vtec solenoid though...

If the headgasket was on backwards oil would be shooting out like hell in the back of the block. Hondabond is not the solution. I would retorque the head and check all seals again.

definitely, it's hard to tell that the leak is coming from there when the oil is fresh and clean.
