Tpe-R build Need Help!!
ok im in another situation with my all motor build.
i just bought an ITR trans I don't know if its the 98+ or not.
The only thing is that I bought it without a diff.
I have a spare Gsr trans NON LSD sitting on the floor with a stripped t-bracket threading. I also have a spare LS that has a busted 3rd gear and needs syncros 2-4.
Can anyone shed some light on whether I should swap the gears, drop the diff in, mix-in-match?.. do they even match up? i heard the bearings are different and i need a b16 diff.??
Thanks in advance any advice is appreciated.

Do you still have the ring gear from the Type R?? Or is that gone as well? If not, all you would need to do is take the ring gear and countershaft from the GSR as a matched set which is a 4.40 ratio and get an LSD for it(or run the stock open diff but, that's not fun! LOL!). You can use the LS but it has a 4.27 ratio which is not the best for performance.
The GSR and Type R have the same differential bolt pattern
B16 and LS have the same differential bolt pattern.
If you decide to go with the GSR setup, consider changing over to the late Type R offset ball bearing set-up versus the Taper 2 pc style if you haven't already. They are a little easier to deal with.
