Default Turbo Rebuild Info: Local Place in So Cal

I've asked a few people & can't get a straight answer to a place to take my turbo to. The new motor for my build is finally done & when I checked the turbo, the housing was pretty scratched up & way too much shaft play. Any estimate on a rebuild cost? I don't want to spend $120 to ship it back & forth.

Yeah, it does look nasty. I've tried to contact Mac (TheShodan) but he's been missing for a minute. This is one of his Silver Surfers...

How about a shop that's local to Southern California? The closer to Disneyland the better....and please don't recommend Turbo City, LOL

I used to get parts from Turbo City in Orange. I believe they are off of Katella so give them a call.

The housing wasn't scratched when sent new, I'll tell you that. Tell me HOW you started the car, prepped the turbo and what happened. You're going to have some play in it when there's no oil circulating through, but if perhaps a compressor pipe blew off during dyno or break in, that CAN cause a problem. Contact me on 9/6/11 so this can be discussed.

Mac>The Silver Surfer showed up in perfect shape. Enjoy your long weekend!

PS. Car hasn't been started. The SS has sat since the tear down in February
