I know I pollute this Honda forum with lots of non-Honda stuff, but I can't help it. I also realize that the last video didn't get much attention since it was from a practice session. I get it... fine. Instead enjoy a race video from the RACE WINNING Stevenson Motorsport Camaro GS.R at Road America.

After a poor qualifying effort, I started the race in 11th place. The Stevenson Motorsport team tweaked our daring "hit or miss" setup from qualifying into an unbelievably fast and reliable race setup. Our big Camaro made short work of the field, going up from 11th to 3rd place in just a few laps. I was eventually able to pass Rob Stout in the #6 Camaro before leading most of the race, handing off a completely clean car to my co-driver John Edwards. He then took the car and kept it up front, winning the first race for a GS Camaro-- EVER.
It was a combination of flawless stops from the crew, outstanding decisions from the engineering team, and some clean work from the driving team that gave Stevenson Motorsport their first GS win.
Enjoy.

seems a few guys were "running you clean." :/ what is your guy's rules to blocking? one move/line to defend or whatever flies? rum bum and the other mitchum car made a few moves on you.

I am a lead car, I have a passing car (let's say car #2) is running up my trumpet as we are approaching a left turn that requires heavy braking. I starts sneaking left and looks like he wants the inside (which could push me wide on corner entry) so I make an obvious move to the inside to keep him from it. As we start braking, he moves all the way back over to the extreme right (the conventional line) to give himself good corning entry. THIS IS THE TRICK. I don't have to hold my line hard to the left. I can sneak back over to the right as long as I leave a car width to the right of my car as proof that I was not trying to keep him from that spot on the racetrack.
Obviously, if I was twitching back and forth in reaction to cars behind me, I'd probably get in trouble for blocking.
Make sense? I don't know if I phrased that right.....
SPiFF, awesome videos. I love those! And good work fitting it into the thread title!... yours makes more sense than mine!
makes complete sense. guess i would deem the mitchum car's movement legal, but still the opposite for the rum bum car. he made 2 moves to counter yours and if i remember right the second one hugged you to the inside grass.

Yeah, I try to get into other drivers' heads. The sensation I was getting was that he was really struggling under braking and was "flailing" trying to keep people behind him.

Yeah, I'm not sure. It often seems to work though. I feel like when they're just seeing something they want to keep behind them dive one direction in their peripheral view of their mirror, they naturally guide the car that direction.
