Default Need an exhaust for 99 EX.

Hey all. I just picked up a 99 EX coupe and it has what appears to be a cheap catback on it with a large can style muffler. I haven't seen any can style mufflers that actually look good on this Model and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what looks/sounds good.

I'm not really looking to make power I just want something that looks decent and doesn't sound bad. I've spent some time browsing youtube and it doesn't seem like there is a lot that actually sounds good on these cars.

I'm considering one of the following:
1. Picking up a 2.25" aftermarket catback
2. Picking up an OEM exhaust
3. having something built local.

I don't really want anything excessively loud, My civic had an extremely loud exhaust on it and it got old very fast.

The other concern I have is that it looks like my midpipe right before the cat is messed up. There is a section of what looks like flex pipe and all of the stainless steel mesh is falling apart.
Would it be worth it to replace this with an OEM unit or should I just get an aftermarket set of headers? I'm thinking from a cost perspective it might be cheaper to just replace the whole front of the exhaust with an aftermarket header than pay for an OEM manifold and midpipe.
