Considering upgrading my iat sensor based off of threads ive found stating that the stock iat can be slow to respond. T1's sensor is only 50 bucks and Im sure I can get an npt bung for a few bucks to weld into the upper intercooler pipe.

Im planning to have 450-500whp on pump and live in NC so there are definite temp swings. With the ease of wiring the sensor in with aem(im assuming it wires in based off the diagram on aems forum), is there any reason not to get one?

 

Its a good upgrade, IMO. Mount it in the charge-piping about 6" from the TB.

The Honda sensor in its OE location really sucks. Ive heard that relocating an OE sensor to the charge piping via weld-bung helps a good bit with its response, but IMO nothing beats a GM sensor.

 

thanks for the input. i figured id be killing 2 birds with one stone since the oem unit can heat soak so easily in the stock location (ive had a problem with this i do believe). if im going to move the sensor anyway, might as well go with a better one.

on the wiring for the gm/t1 sensor with aem, should it be wired into the oem harness and calibration wizard set to gm iat sensor, or should it be wired directly into the aem ecu like it calls for their sensor, and calibrated for gm iat?
