Koni/Ground control help :)
Ok this time I finally went ahead and bought me some Ground Controls like most people said. I followed a How-To and after installing and setting a random height (equal on each side) I noticed my homemade bump stops (dog chew toy ones) are being squished and the car seems to be sitting on them after i lower the car down from the jack. And just to let you all know the sleeves on on the lowest clip setting all the way around. I have stock top hats as well. The coils arent maxed out (I have about 1.5in left in the rear and 1 in the front left *approximate*) So whats goin on here? are my shocks already maxed out travel wise? Out of the front two, the pass front is real squished (buldging out) when i drop the car too. Just wondering what I need to do or what is going on here. Also would taller bump stops keep you from lowering as well? Maybe my bump stops are too thick? thanks for your help HT :-)b
Hmmm, I have never heard of the dog toy bump stop before but I can imagine its one of those little kongs lol. As for your issue... buy some real bumpstops... some peeps will probably tell you to get top hats, but then you will be investing way more money into the set up cause they are not cheap for 4 of them, even ebay ones. Based on my knowledge of Ground Control coilovers and Koni shocks, you paid a lot of money for them. It may have been a better route to purchase a full body coilover rather than the sleeve design you have. It probably would have been cheaper, stronger and the shock would be designed for the spring already assembled. You can pick up Function and Form Type ones for cheap and they are quality or even the Yonaka ones that have great reviews.
Are you tires tucked? What is Koni's suggested lowering level or spring compatibility for best ride?

Well the crx shell I bought came with the yellows and I just got the Ground Controls in the mail yesterday. The wheels arent tucked. The rear quarter is about even with the rear tire (195/50/15) and the front is about the same maybe a bit higher. And ya its one of those Kong toys lol. I saw a post on here, a guy with koni yellows had used that so I figured I would try

some people cut that oem bumpstop in half, it will affect your ride quality.
Buy new ones or look into what the energy suspension ones are made out of.
Just because the dog toy is hard doesn't mean its gonna make a good bumpstop.

i have the same size cut kong bump stops sitting on the factory circlip settings from koni and they are not giving me any problems...i think your probably just to low...!!!

Ya but i never had oem bump stops to begin with so i improvised haha. i might try and find some at a junk yard also
ground controls instructions say to cut the bump stops in half with use on konis. Since i didnt have oem ones i found this trick on HT. One of my main question was, could the ones i made be too tall causing it to squish. Since I thought i made them too tall, I cut them down a little. But ill try and hunt some oem's and cut them. But for now these will be used.
Dang man lol, well glad its on my thread!
anyways, I went ahead and took off the front two and I cut those in half pretty much. (Which got me thinking if the yellow one was an OEM standard then the first ones i made were too big because I basically cut OEM size and they should have been in half in the first place. lol) So i cut them again and now they are about an inch or a tad less and out of the four I made, I took the two that were the same height and used them up front. Ill post some pics soon. I dont plan on messing with the rear ones until I get some aftermarket LCA's and an LCA bar. so I can do it all at once.
But now when I dropped the car again, I cant see the bump stops because they are up further so I assume they are ok lol. but I pretty sure they are fine at the size they are at now
And Id like to get some top hats as well later down the road
