Parts available in 5 years?
Looking towards the future...will there still be a lot of parts available for the ITR?
Such as JDM frontends, rebuild parts(pistons, valvetrain) etc
Will they probably cost more?

I believe Automobile manufacturers are required to keep available OEM parts for 20 years after they stop production of a vehicle. Now aftermarket parts on the other hand... I would assume they too would be still available, look at CRXs and EGs, there are tons of parts still available for them. There is no doubt that prices will increase.
Edit: 20 years.

Pat, who is sad to say his parents sold the '63 180D recently
It's relatively hard to find performance parts for 1st gen CRXs, at this point in time.
That's why I jumped on the opportunity to do the ITR up first, while all the good things and the cash/credit to buy them was plentiful.

In north america standard practice is parts availability for 10 years.. But I know of no laws requiring manufactures to make parts for a specific time period.. Once the last model is out of warranty the manufacturer can tell you to go jump in the lake..
But money is the big motivater.. If the demand for the part is great and they are making money... It'll be around for a while.. Or if the part was never sold out then it may be around for a bit as well, but sooner or later inventory carrying costs will make any car part not worth keeping around, and then they usually get crushed or sold to a jobber..
Japanese motorcycle parts availability is insane.. I restore bikes and I can usually get anything I want from them for bikes that are thirty years old! Mind you the prices can be a little ouchy
