Transmisson with horrible sound.. Need rebuilt?
ok so my Ls trans has a horrible sound, all most like a grinding sound, Not really sure how to rebuild it to be honest, None of the gears grinded while shifting either, Im guesing the Diff is bad or the bearings. Iv not riped it apart yet an im getting ready here very soon, just finished up tearing down an rebuilding my B20/Vtec.. Any help on fixing this would be a big help, this will be my first Transmission rebuild an Im super excited. Also when I pulled the axle out the snap ring on the axle was chewed off an the axle slid right out, would that have caused it to start making that noise?
Thank you for reading this, I need alittle help if anyone has the time to right back about this..

When does the sound occur...when at idle? with the clutch pressed in? when moving forward? under throttle/load? With the axles out...try and move the differential to see if it has any play. If it does..that is probably the source of the sound and you have either bad differential bearings or broken differential possibly.
