Default Skunk2 Tuner 1 Valvetrain?

Hey guys of been researching this for days and I just can't figure out what to do. After studying up on valvesprings I decided the supertechs were too high of a max lift and eventually decided to just go with s2 valve springs. on my B18C1. All i need to know now is retainers. This is a DD with some weekend autoxing, thats it. Redline won't be set any higher than 8500 max. I don;t want to use titanium retainers because I want to be able to slap em in there and forget about them for the most part and just check them after I go autoxing. This whole search has been quite demoralizing for me, I'm about to just go ITR cams instead lol.

Basically will oem retainers be reliable and last for a long period of time with the s2 springs or should I go with the BC chromoloy steel retainers. Thanks Also do you guys think I should use any other brand of valvesprings

Technically upgraded valvesprings and retainers are only recommended for Tuner 1 camshafts, they are not required.

That being said your S2 spring / OEM retainer combo will be more than sufficient.

I ran my old Skunk2 springs w/ OEM retainers for a few years and they worked flawlessly together.

Thanks guys really helps, just wanted to make sure this setup would be reliable even when I'm autoxing in the upper rpm for a couple min.
