Wondering if this has/can be done... H22A w/H2B awd?
Wondering if you can do a 91 EF with a H22a with H2B fully built with turbo and put on a AWD system. Money doesn't matter. I think it'll be pretty cool to pull this off. What do y'all think?
ummm k it wouldnt be h2b it would have to be h2d which is the easyest way to go but as far as that goes well the rtawd on the efs arent meant to handle much power most power i heard that you could put on the awd system is 220 whp with out breaking parts also good luck finding most of the parts and fabbing stuff up bro

OP you REALLY need to do your homework on this one... Look up the afore mentioned builds. It involves essentially taking the from and rear suspension/drivetrain from the CR-V and modifying the chassis on the car to make it work. Most people do it to the 92-00' chassis because there is more room to accomplish this. You have to figure the gas tank and exhaust are just the beginning of what is going to be relocated and moved around. By no means will it be cheap or easy - especially to get it to track right. There are only a couple things that would concern me: the H-series engine interfering with the transaxle setup fr the AWD unit, and the stock limitations of the drivetrain being used. Some of the ones you see are pure garbage - the ones that were done right are beautiful.

N3va3vaSatisfi3d- I'll take a look. I know you can put a awd system from a CRV into an ef. But with the car staying b series. I know the H22 is a hell of a bigger motor than the b, but shouldn't it all fit? I'm beginning to think that it will/wont. H series in a ef is a monster itself. I'll start crunching #'s. Thanks all
hey if this guy can make a 500hp rwd prelude using H2b and a crv trans why couldn't you do it awd the same way?

[QUOTE=N3va3vaSatisfi3d;45928734]Why wouldn't/couldn't it be H2B? Have you ever heard of a CR-V? They are Honda's SUV platform that has a B-series AWD drivetrain in them. This swap has been done before and I am sure you haven't heard of it because it requires a lot of skill, time, fabrication, and money. I know there were a few in the 92-00' section.
smh you act like if i didnt know about the crv and how rare is their 5spd trans also how expensive the whole drive train is the swap has been done but it was in a ef hatch with a drive train from a ef wagon and using a d series trans and motor and not to say that the whole drive train had to customized for the power and to fit in the hatch and yes i know there is a delsol with awd too yes i know it b series but again how much of the parts had to be modified to fit and to work properly

Why would swapping the d transmission be easier? sure, you keep factory transmission mounts, but that is it.
The amount of custom work is still going to be similar in cost and time. So why would you use the 20+ year old rt4wd system instead of a 10 year old CRV set-up that can handle more power? Hmm, curious indeed.
