Helms or Haynes?
HELMS hands down. They tell you every possibly detail about every single piece of anything on your car. Measurements for every single bolt, step-by-step on doing anything you could possibly think of for your vehicle

just download the factory service manual and keep a laptop handy in the garage. it's in the faq I believe.
the CRX one is very similar to the Civic one, so either one will work... small things vary, but it's pretty straight forward. same grounds, same wiring routing (basically), same torque specs, same motor.
edit: EF manual here

My Hanes manual assumes that 84-91 are the same in most aspects. They assume most things carry from 84 to 91... if it's the same in 84, why would they change it... Crazy.
Then they add in a few fancy pictures that are never for the car you are working on - if they are, then it's a miracle and you should probably call NASA and find out if anything strange is going on in the universe.
Most of the text is a word game and you need to have a degree in linguistics and a top secret military clearances and training in cryptography to decipher it.
It's 75/25 if the torque specs are good. They do an ok job of cut-and-pasting here.
For the most part, you can buy one Haynes book in your lifetime and use it to fix any make and model you ever own.
The information is equally vague in every copy and they all guide you to take it to a service tech for all the stuff you really need a book to fix.
BIG PLUS for the Haynes and Chilton is that they both use high quality yellowed recycled paper that burns GREAT in the fireplace.
