Oil light on at idle... HELP
So i have a jdm b16a in a eg hatch and it has been very good mechanically engine wise. My problem is that when its warmed up and at idle (850-950 rpm) my oil light comes on.
I HAVE replaced the oil pressure sending unit(the one with a single wire next to the oil filter)
I HAVE replaced the oil pump with a new one from honda.
I HAVE put new oil in and a filter.
I HAVE checked the wiring on the connections of the oil pressure switch that i got brand new.
I know there are other threads out there that are similar but i wanted to ask questions according to my situation.
PLEASE HELP i dont know what else could be the problem
NOTE: Vtec hits as normal and i hear no knocking

Had this happen In my 88 crx a couple years ago and my cluster was faulty and i replaced it and had no more light. Did you prime the oil pump prior? Stock head/block etc?
I guess you should clean/repair all electrical grounds on your car. Consult helms manual to know where they are. That way you can be sure it's not just a weak ground that is causing this, I don't know.
did you see if the oil pick up screen was clean? sounds like you replaced the crucial things
hook up a pressure gauge then u will know for sure
running the correct oil viscosity?

That's a real good suggestion, is the oil pan dented in pretty far or oil pick-up clogged over time?
This happend with my Ls del sol it was the idel Air contol vale just clean the with carburetor cleaner and it should work or some time ist the cold start crap some intakes don't got them tho mine reved up to 2700 rpm it was ideling to high

start the car and let it warm up until you see the oil light turn on, when it does unplug the single wire that goes to the oil sending unit and with a test light connect the alligator clip to the positive on the battery. use the other end to test the wire. if it lights up, you have a short on the cable. if it doesn't then the cluster might be bad, or you have low oil pressure.
i am running 5w20. I did prime the oil pump before start up. the pickup screen wasnt clogged but i did clean it out and my oil pan is not dented. I previously ran royal purple and it had been running it for over 6k... i know naughty me. but when the light comes on the motor doesnt make any akward noises. in theroy wouldnt it knock if it didnt have oil pressure?
It wont knock right away but if theres a rod bearing issue once you get on it at high Rpm then you might have a knock eventually. Honestly hard to tell from the material that's givin to determine the problem. So this is just at an idle and not while on throttle right? So that means you ar getting low oil pressure which could be caused by switching oil and different type of filter(which I doubt) but is possible.
just a thought did you put an oem honda fuel filter on i have read and heard from a few different people they are slightly different from say fram or whoever else, and help keep that low idle pressure

After the panic in reading some of the advice given by people on these forums, from sensors to worn out bearings I was relieved to find it was as simple as resetting the oil life on the cars brain. There are YouTube vids, here's one
