Default im new to honda-tech i need help

i have got a 92 honda accord. im not really sure what motor is in it but everyone tells me its an h22. idk. but anyways. my prob that im having is
when i am driving the car or sitting still the car wont rev past 3500 rmp. its like it has a rev limit set or something. but the other day i started it and it drove find did not stop at 3500 went up in rpm until it hit red line at 6500 then i let off. but as soon as i turned the car off then back on the prob started again. some people tell me its in limp mode. others tell me its out of time.
idk what the prob is or anything. i have no acces to any spare parts or anything. but my car seems to run fine like it is but some times feel really slugish. some guy told me to stick a u shape paper clip into two wires that go into the ecu (where those are located i have not idea) and watch to see how many times a light blinked. and then look up obd1 codes on line. im so confused. can anyone please please help me. i dnt want to screw my car up. its all i have to drive.

Find out what code the check engine light is throwing. Then address your problem from there. Search on how to retrieve the code. It's stickied in one of these threads.
