jdm itr or jdm gsr indentification
didnt know where to post this but since its going into my ek, why not ? ^_^
ok story is, i picked up what is supposedly an jdm ITR from TahitianEG from Honda-tech, now I did my research and everything checked out but recently my friend said for it to be a ITR its stamp is suppose to be PR3-2. Mine's stamped PR3-3 and I looked around on HT and Google and some say it doesn't matter and others do. So i looked for other giveaways and all of them seem to be a not for sure thing, i hope you guys can help me out and put my mind at ease. thanks for your help in advance. i hope my thread helps others that have the same problem as me lol
i've checked google and HT, so don't say to go use the search. they all have different answers.
i checked the intake mani, the block, supposedly green paint behind the dizzy and i dont have it but on google and some HT threads they say the green paint is an easy way to tell but the paint can fade or be cleaned off easily.
the motor didn't come with a tranny but everything i checked is stamped P73 and the block is stamped PR3, the only thing thats not stamped with PR3 or P73 is the timing belt which is stamped P72 but im not sure if that matters.
if you can spread some knowledge let me know, i know others have this problem too

look at the intake manifold if it looks like a snail and has butterflys it's a gsr (vti) type r manifolds won't bolt to the gsr head as the bolt pattern is differant so post some pic's and we can tell you .
hmmmm, a few things for me to mention regarding your post............
Yes, B18C(R) engines did have the green paint on the head just behind the dizzy, but at the age they are now, it is often gone
ALL B series type R engine blocks are stamped P73, all of them!
As far as PR3 head stampings.....there are a few, which change from production dates. I have had a couple different codes from different years, its normal
